Being A Solopreneur Can Only Get You So Far

Personally, I love making deals more than money, but the money is definitely a motivating factor for me.

Sometimes money is not the motivating factor in success, as you’ll see in a little of my interview with Delia Ursulescu. Enjoy a walk into the brilliant mind that turned $250 into a $10 million Amazon empire by challenging her comfort zone as a solopreneur:

Delia shares her secrets to $10 million in revenue with Mark

Delia on why she went into business:

“I never really wanted to build a business where I have people under me that I manage. So until about two and a half years ago, that was not even on my radar. I was not willing to build a business where I had people under me to manage because I didn’t want to deal with people.

I enjoy the challenge of figuring things out, finding a new way to make money. Not necessarily to make money because I discovered that actually making money is not very motivating to me. And I discover other people are the same, but finding solutions to problems was very motivating.

So to kind of wrap up the answer, it [wanting to work solo] was a strength in one way, but at times it was a weakness because it made me look for more different ways to money rather than doing the boring things of researching products, launching them, making money, and repeating the process. We had a proven process at one point, and I didn’t stick to it. I kept looking for something else.”

I’ll be posting more of Delia’s wisdom for you in the coming weeks. Honestly, picking her brain was one of the most rewarding interviews I’ve ever done.
